Created in 1754, the Municipality of Alimodian sprawls amidst the verdant hills of southwest central Iloilo that prides its productive, peace-loving, concerned, and cooperative people. It is about 25 kilometers from Iloilo City and is bounded by the Municipality of Maasin and Cabatuan to the north, San Miguel in the east, Leon in the south and San Remegio, in the province of Antique.
The town belongs to the 4th Class Municipality, composed of 51 barangays which are divided into eight (8) administrative districts. It has a total land area of 14,482 hectares, a population of 37,285 based on the 2007 Household Profiling done by the LGU, and an annual income for 2007 of P45,918,572.17.
